11 Dublin restaurants that are perfect for your next fancy date night

Get booking.

1. Bastible, South Circular Road

Bastible may have literally just opened, but it’s quickly becoming one of the hottest tickets in town. If you fancy really delicious food served up in a cool, unpretentious space, then you’ll love it. (We recommend the ham hock broth for starters and duck for mains.)

Oh, and order the Dublin 8 Negroni. You won’t regret it.

2. Delahunt, Camden Street

If you consider yourself a foodie, you’re going to want to book an evening in Delahunt. The Camden Street restaurant received a prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand and has already become a firm favourite among foodies.

Be warned: the portions are relatively small, but that just means you’ll have to savour it.

3. Etto, Merrion Row

Etto is an unassuming little restaurant on Merrion Row, but its menu is sublime.

If you’re going with your other half, get the Côte de bœuf. It serves two and you’ll be dreaming about it for days afterwards.

4. Mulberry Garden, Donnybrook

Good food with a keen emphasis on Irish produce.

Your tastebuds will thank you.

5. Las Tapas de Lola, Wexford Street

*drools*

Las Tapas de Lola is perfect for anyone who has ever dreamt of living in Barcelona and sipping sangria all day. Both the atmosphere and the food are top-notch. (Also, your writer once saw Paul O’Connell sitting outside there. If it’s good enough for Paulie…)

6. Forest Avenue, Sussex Road, Dublin 4

Everyone raves about the five-course tasting menu in Forest Avenue.

Warning: the food is so pretty here that you probably won’t be able to resist taking a photo.

7. Featherblade, Dawson Street

This one’s for all the carnivores out there.

If you’re a steak aficionado, you’ll love Featherblade as it’s pretty much the only thing on the menu.

You know what to do, meatheads.

8. Vintage Kitchen, Poolbeg Street

Not only is the food in The Vintage Kitchen one of the best in the city, but the restaurant also operates a Bring Your Own Wine policy and they don’t charge corkage.

Good eats, free wine and vinyl? What more could you want?

9. The GreenHouse Restaurant, Dawson Street

Okay so this one is on the expensive side and is probably best reserved for a special occasion. But the food is, by all accounts, exquisite.

It’s also one of a select few restaurants in Ireland to have a Michelin Star having been awarded one earlier this year. So now.

10. The Winding Stair, Lower Ormond Quay

For wonderful Irish cooking in a bit of a city institution, look no further than The Winding Stair.

11. Terra Madre, Bachelor’s Walk

And finally, if you like really good/no frills Italian food, Terra Madre is the place to go. It’s tiny, but charming, and the good is excellent.

And sure what’s more romantic than Italian food and wine?
